Wedding Dress Sizing Charts

What is the logic behind wedding dress sizing?  How come you are a different dress size in normal clothes than you are for a wedding dress?  What size should you buy?

There are no standard guidelines and shops are free to do what they want.  Womens clothing sizes take 3 measurements into consideration - bust, waist and hip.  Below are 2 standard sizes used for 2 different manufacturers.  These just illustrate the point that all bridal shops have different sized wedding dresses.

In addition, notice that most sizes increase by 2 inches - that's a lot! What happens if you are in-between sizes?

Since we custom make your dress, we take lots of measurements, not just the standard 3.  Guess what we discovered?

No brides are a standard size!  For more information, see the wedding dress sizing blog.

We have only included the fuller figure range in the wedding dress sizing charts because these are what we have in stock!

So you see, there is very little cohesion or standardisation for wedding dress sizing.  The important thing to remember, is how you look on the Big Day - gorgeous and stunning!
